Free Seminar / Five Intelligent Designs for Family Ministry

Why God?

From George Bush to Nightline to the cover of TIME and the New York Times, a new round of the “Evolution vs. Creation” battle is underway. Why God? is a senior high immersion weekend that explores the meaning of existence and intellectual integrity in the search for God.

Whether you believe the debate belongs in the classroom or the church, Why God? Weekends will equip your youth with the latest research into the complexity of the universe, life, and the human experience from an Intelligent Design perspective. Can we send our youth out equipped to discuss their faith with sound logic and an articulate, informed defense? What if we do? And what if we don’t?

Why God? is designed as a weekend retreat for your brightest and best senior high youth, followed by four six-week peer-led courses that youth teach to youth, followed by four adult forums that your youth would teach at your church. Check out Dr. Hugh Ross (www.reasons.org), Dr. Dallas Willard (www.dallaswillard.org) and Lad Allen at (www.illustramedia.com) if you want to know who we’re working with on this.

How to Survive Adolescence

We will kick off the morning with a new parenting course designed to help teens and those who love them begin the adolescent years with a survival plan that includes healthy listening and communication skills, prayer, and blessing.

"How to Survive Adolescence" is part of Faith Inkubators' Faith Stepping Stones system which engages parents with practical parenting advice on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of both themselves and their kids at eight key points in parenting between birth and high school graduation.

Bible Song Sunday

Imagine a Sunday School where all 3rd-6th graders learn key Scriptures in song, art, cartoons and sign language. Imagine worship in a church where the majority of 3rd-6th grade parents show up because their children are singing.

In Bible Song Sunday, the Bible becomes both hymn book and text book. The latest in brain-based curriculum design will allow your youth to memorize through music and art.

One hundred and twenty key Scripture passages from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22—at least one from each book in the Bible—are committed to memory during this four-year cycle , giving kids a stockpile of God’s wisdom to draw upon as they move into the adolescent years and beyond.

Head to the Heart Adolescent Ministry

Is your confirmation program growing kids or graduating kids?  A flashier workbook, flashier youth director or flashier youth budget isn’t going to change things; systems problems demand systems solutions.

The Head to the Heart system shifts the focus of traditional adolescent confirmation ministry from communicating information to faith formation & building communities of faith among our young people.  By harnessing the power of small group ministry, young people learn, serve, and play as they bond together as living cells in the body of Christ.

Intergenerational Ministry

The Generations In Faith Together system promotes intergenerational “faith families” that meet weekly to care for one another, share Highs & Lows, read Scripture, pray for each other, and of course, learn about God.

We’ll briefly review two ways to “test drive” the intergenerational concept to see if it ’s right for your congregation:

  • GIFT Advent has two sections: Behold the Signs and Behold the Son, and is based on the Series B Lectionary.
  • GIFT Stewardship provides your congregation with a fresh, intergenerational way to approach the task of being good stewards of all that God entrusts us.
